
Ariana Grande-Butera is an American performer, songwriter and actress. Her fame is due to her four-octave range in her voice and her trademark usage of the whistle register, that have received acclaim by media and critics. Her life as a performer and personal life has received widespread media attention. Grande has received numerous accolades throughout her career which include two Grammy Awards, one Brit Award and one Bambi Award, two Billboard Music Awards, three American Music Awards, nine MTV Video Music Awards, and 30 Guinness World Records.Grande began her musical career at age 15 in the 2008 Broadway musical 13. She became famous for performing as Cat Valentine in the Nickelodeon television series Victorious (2010-2013) and Sam & Cat (2013-2014). Grande was signed to Republic Records in 2011 after company executives had viewed YouTube videos of her covering songs. Her 1950s doo-wop-influenced pop and R&B debut album,[2] Yours Truly (2013) it was the top album of the US Billboard 200, while its first single, "The Way", was a top 10 hit on the US Billboard Hot 100. The album was immediately compared to Mariah Carey's duet voice and whistle register.
