Sharon Yvonne Stone, born on March 10, 1958, in Meadville (Pennsylvania) was born to Dorothy Lawson, a former employee at a factory as well as Joseph William Stone, a maker of tools and dies. She has three siblings: Michael, Kelly, and Patrick. Stone started second grade in kindergarten at age five. Saegertown School situated in Saegertown Pennsylvania is her school of choice for highschool. Stone graduated in 1975. She was also a contestant in Saegertown's Miss Pennsylvania beauty pageant, winning Miss Crawford County. Stone, along with her Aunt in 1977, made the move in New Jersey for a modeling job. She was signed by Ford Modeling Agency a week further. She soon relocated to Europe for a time, and lived with her aunt in Milan and Paris. Stone was, however, unhappy with acting and modeling in Europe. She decided to keep her acting career going as an actress while she was in Europe. The film of Woody Allen, "Stardust Memories", was a mixed success in her 20s.
