Aunjanue E. Taylor Aunjanue E. Taylor, an American stage actress and producer, is known for playing in the feature film Ray Undercover Brother as well as in The Mentalist. She graduated with an B.A. from African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting from Tisch School at New York University. Aunjanue L. Ellis is an American actress and producer, who has been involved in the world of film as well as television. Her acting career began in the theatre. Then she appeared on several television shows, independent films and mainstream film. Her most famous role was Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico, and also appeared on BET's epic drama The Book of Negroes. For both of these roles she won critical acclaim as well as various nominations and awards including an award from the Television Critics Choice Award for Best Actress. Her career began as an actor in the year 1995 when she played Ariel in The Tempest. On Broadway she was a part of the cast in Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Seeking the Genesis and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. When it comes to film, she is most well-known for her roles in films such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. In her television work, she's been recognized for her role as a regular character on ABC's police drama High Incident.
