Awkwafina
Awkwafina, an American performer and actress, started with a series of ribbing quips about sexuality and racial identification. Before expanding into Hollywood her music, she came out with an album of rap songs. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants, was her initial music experience. She played the trumpet. She also received classical and jazz training later becoming a hip-hop teenager. Concentrating on school she majored in journalism, and women's studies in college even taking classes in Mandarin in Beijing for a short time. The focus in music until she finished her degree. Following her viral success via the Internet the My Vag song My Vag was a reaction to the song of Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually made its way onto her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also had viral hits such as the body positive Queef or her wink-inducing hometown tour the city of New York Bitche$. The latter track was linked to Awkwafina's NYC and 2015 travel guide. After she established herself as a musician and an author, she decided to take on the roles of actor. In addition to early shows like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in film projects like Neighbors to Storks. She had a breakthrough role in the year 2018 when she appeared in a number of notable films like Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
